I found quite interestning interview with Zidane.
It's about his cooperation with "Right to play".
I think it's great that after finish his carieer, he helps other people.
What do you think about it?
"-On how he wants to teach people the values he learnt as a sportsman (in French)
“Well, simply the fact that I have much more free time now I’ve retired. I met people in my life that taught me an awful lot and now I’m tired, I want to be able to turn my attention to other people and teach them the values I’ve learnt throughout my career as a footballer. Because as a sportsman, you need to adopt a certain discipline and personally, there are two or three things that really stuck and guided me throughout my career. I can give you examples, values like commitment, hard work, of course, and what is, to me, the most important value of them all: respect. These three principles guided me throughout my career and today, I want to share them with other people, show them that with values like these, they can go very far in life.”
-On sport, football and ‘Right To Play’ Initiative (in French)
“So football, sport, and “Right to play”, is a way to show them that it’s ok for them to forget about… Well, about all the problems they have to deal with everyday and that’s it’s ok to just focus on the game, to hope for a better life, for a better world and to show them that there are people out there who care about them.”
-On taking on new projects since retiring from football (in French)
“Well, since I’ve retired from professional football, new projects have been elaborated, among which this one “Right to play”, that was suggested to me in collaboration with Adidas.”
-On why he wanted to get involved in the project (in French)
“I thought it was a wonderful idea because somehow, I got incredibly lucky to be able to… I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to do what I wanted to do, when and how I wanted to do it. And I think there are countries… a few countries where they don’t get the same opportunities, I mean, they have a chance to evolve and grow, play whenever they want to and however they want to. So if I agreed to do work on this project, it’s really because the project itself appealed to me… I liked the idea a lot.”
-On life after football (in French)
“Since I stopped playing, I found a new interest in learning about things. That’s what I like. I want to see what’s happening beyond the little world I’ve been living in, when I was just focusing on football, on winning games and all those little things that were part of my everyday life. Now that I’ve retired, I really want to try and help people.”
-On new goals (in French)
“I think that’s what my new goal is. It’s a new life for me, a new beginning and that’s what I want to focus on from now on.”
